Forget looking for music teacher jobs [Do THIS instead!]
So you're a music teacher looking for a new gig - a local music school looking to fill a teaching room perhaps, maybe an online school looking to fill some overflow.
What if I told you that you could start your OWN online music coaching studio that brings in multiple six figures a year ($10k/$20k a month) - and you would get to work with the most amazing students you could ever imagine?
No more school students who are too burned out from math and english class to bother practicing their tuba, no more beginner guitarists looking for chords when you're a seasoned shred guitar master, no more rock singers coming to your opera classes - simply the RIGHT students that you've always dreamed of working with.
And did I mentioned this can easily bring you in 6 figures?
You might think I'm crazy - but there's a proven system for creating a music coaching business that goes absolutely supernova.
And no, you don't need a million subscribers or daily videos.
You don't need to break the bank on paid ads.
And you definitely don't need to jump on any ridiculous trends or make tiktok videos.
You simply need to do what you do best - teach.
But HOW you might ask - how exactly do you create a success music coaching business? Maybe you tried teaching from home back in the day, and gave up pretty quickly and went back to looking for music teacher jobs because home teaching sucked - the hours were bad, you couldn't charge more than $25 an hour, and the students were crap - literally, every second person needed to use your bathroom, trapesing through your house like it's an airport.
I get it - that's why you prefer to work from music stores or established online studios that handle all the back end stuff and you just get to do the coaching.
The money isn't great, but it's easy, right?
Easy is never better - but, the system I'm about to share with you really IS that easy
And it starts with exactly WHO your ideal student is.
#1 - WHO is your ideal student?
Now, if you're a great teacher - you might think any and everyone that wants to learn guitar is a good fit, right? You want to work with enough students to pay your bills - so beggars can't be choosers right?
The truth is opposite.
The more niche your students/the offer you're making your students - the better RESULTS they're going to achieve, and the more appropriately you're going to be rewarded for the results that you provide them.
Let's face it, a world renowned Flamenco guitar teacher isn't exactly leveraging their skillset by taking on kids who want to learn chords, right?
For starters, their parents are going to be seriously overpaying for the privilege of their child working with you - but, they're not even learning the skills the flamenco guitarist is famous for, he's just showing them a chord or two.
This mean the student is underwhelmed for the amount of money they're paying, and ultimately the flamenco guitarist doesn't get to charge what he's REALLY worth for this niche unique skills, and he gets bored as hell teaching a C chord to 7 year olds.
Instead, if he had a defined flamenco coaching program that specifically catered to those looking specifically to master the art of flamenco on the guitar - he would both be leveraging his true skills, and charging accordingly.
Think carefully - WHO is your ideal student?
#2 - HOW are you speaking to these people?
If you put a flyer up in a guitar store, or at your local cafe that says "guitar lessons - $50 teach any style" you're going to get exactly that; any tom, dick or harry looking to learn whatever $50 will get them; whether you're a good fit for them/they're a good fit for you or note.
It's purely a time vs. cost transaction.
Let's face it, you're going to get absolute rubbish students that don't practice, don't trust your advice and expertise, and ultimately expect way too much from you outside of your field of experience and expertise.
Instead, if you put a short 10 minute tutorial online discussing specific rock guitar techniques, or specific acoustic guitar techniques for a very specific style/as used by a very specific artist; you're going to speak ONLY to guitarists who want to learn rock in that specific style/play acoustic guitar in that specific style.
With a steady stream of content designed in this way to speak to your absolute ideal audience - with a way for them to contact you of course - once you hook in your idea student (hey, might only be one or two people out of every 500 subscribers - it's not about volume), they'll watch every video you have, and they'll be DESPERATE to work with you, because you're the only one speaking their language.
Quite literally, you're the ONLY guitar teacher out there speaking to their unique style, or the unique artist they want to homage or learn.
When it turns out you offer a very customised program designed around that style - they're going to jump at the chance, and damn the cost!
Speak directly and SOLELY to your ideal audience with a singular message - and you'll get a reflection in the students that come your way looking for help reaching their goals.
#3 - Make them an offer they can't refuse
If you've been speaking to flamenco guitarists - offer them the prime flamenco educational experience. Set a goal from point a) to point b) with them and make that exact offer.
If you've been speaking to rock guitarists - offer them the quintessential rock guitar program that takes them from zero to hero as a rock guitarist.
A weak offer like "sure, I'll give you an hour lesson" is going to get a weak response, weak results, and really weak drive in the pursuit of the goal.
Offering an hour lesson is kindof like saying "sure, we'll do the work, you'll pay for it, but we might not get any results".
So, define the goal and results for them, and charge for those results.
Now, I said this was only going to take 3 steps - but I've kinda taken the ball and run with it and written out a fully fleshed out guide for you on building and scaling your music coaching studio;
