How exactly DO you find students online for your music coaching studio?

If you're looking for more students for your music coaching business online, there's actually a much better question you need to ask yourself first.

Who are my students, exactly?

No, I'm not talking about your current students - I'm talking about your IDEAL student.

The student that you can most effectively help, and the student you would be best equipped to work with and actually ENJOY working with.

Who are they?

Classical piano students over the age of 40. Rock guitar students who want to join a cover band. Jazz sax players who started with drums as their first instrument. Left handed drummers who love prog.

The more specific the better.

Because THIS is actually how you find students online - by knowing WHO to speak to and knowing HOW to speak to them.

All of your content, interactions, videos, blog posts, tutorials, instagram posts, ads - all of it - needs to speak specifically to THIS person.

You know, the guy that you'd love to see walk through your studio doors right now looking for help with their goals.

Now, there's two important reasons you want to speak to your ideal students - and it has little to do with finding 'more' students, and everything to do with aligning their goals with your content and expertise, and ultimately the program you're going to offer them.

Yep, hourly lessons suck - both for the student, and also for you as a teacher.

How many times have you run hourly lessons with a student who just didn't practice, didn't care, or even just wasn't a good fit to work with you, but you worked with them anyway because you needed the money?

That's because you were unclear from the start exactly what it is that you offer - and also why they should be working with you in the first place.

Imagine a world famous flamenco guitarist teaching campfire songs to someone - this is a total mismatch in their skillset, a mismatch in the goals that the student is looking to achieve - all caused by a mismatch in the content/ad that was created to get this student in the first place.

If the ad or content had said point blank "flamenco guitar training" - then the campfire guitarist would have just steered clear, and, the guitarist that would pay a premium to work with such a niche guitar teacher would be burning to work with them.

Yet the ad just says "guitar lessons $100" - so, the right student is not alerted or spoken to, and the casual student is really spoken to in their place due to the casual nature of the content/ad.

The first step is really to identify WHO your ideal student is - then speak to them in a primal way in your content, EXCLUSIVELY to them - then make the most dynamite, salivating offer possible related to their specific goals.

Not only will you have the pleasure of working with a driven, excited student who practices their ass off under your tutelage - they'll also knock their goals out of the freakin' park because they're so aligned with your message and method - AND you'll be paid accordingly for the amazing results that only you can provide them with.

Unless you're a totally green teacher that has never had students before/you've just started your coaching studio today - it's likely your real question isn't actually how to find students online, it's really how to reach your financial objectives as a teacher while making a bigger impact with your students, right?

Let's call a spade a spade here - you've got a financial objective that you're not currently reaching with your current student base, right? And that's exactly why you're looking for more students.

Two totally different things.

If you were already reaching your financial objectives with your current student base - it's not likely that you'd be so desperate to find new students, yes?

That's because your real question you're asking is how to set up a more efficient marketing and business model for your music coaching studio.

The first step is to work out exactly who your ideal student is, then speak to them on a primal level in your content exclusively, then make them a dynamite offer they simply can't refuse.

But how exactly DO you speak to your students on a primal level? Creating regular, engaging content is a LOT of work, right?

What if I told you I only created one core piece of content per week, even per month in some cases - and this content then flowed through to daily content on every platform that I run?

It's called the Family Tree Content System.
